Floy Kelley Rites To Be Friday At Pleasant View
Last rite for Floy Kelley, a farmer living northwest of Carnegie, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Pleasant View Baptist church with Rev. Roy Lind, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Carnegie cemetery.
Kelley died Tuesday in the Carnegie hospital after a short illness. He had not been feeling well since in the summer. He entered the hospital two weeks ago and had been critical for the last few days. He had farmed in the Pleasant View community, northeast of Carnegie, since 1935.
He was born February 7, 1901, near Marshall, Ark., son of Wayne and Belle Kelley. He was married to Opal Holsted August 14, 1927, at Leslie, Ark. Four daughters and one son were born to them, all of whom were here at the time of their father's death. He was a charter member of the Pleasant View Baptist church.
Surviving him are his wife, and one son, R.L., of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Lona Faye Ponder, Chino, Calif., Mrs. Hattie Belle Suter of Climax, Colo., Mrs. Lorene Dorrell, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Joleta Phipps, Carnegie; nine grandchildren; and one brother, Rack Kelley of Marshall, Ark.
