On the marker his name is Leander L. Benton. Leander maybe a combination of his first and middle name. Also I have seen his name Leonidas L. (Leander) Benton. For now don't know which is correct. Will leave as is on the marker.

Mr. Lee Alexander Benton
Mr. Lee Alexander Benton, 93, died at the home of his son, Mr. Grady Benton, in Waxhaw Wednesday night. He was a retired farmer. He was the son of the late Oliver and Louise Medlin Benton of Union County. Funeral service was held today at 2 o’clock at Secrest Grove Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Melton Helms and the Rev. E. M. Ferguson. Burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are: five daughters, Mrs. Amzie Helms, Monroe, Mrs. Arthur Helms, Waxhaw, Mrs. Oscar Baker, Gastonia, Mrs. C. R. Ross, Augusta, Mrs. H. D. Skipper of Charlotte; two son, Messrs., Robert and Grady Benton of Waxhaw.
