Lola was born Oct. 16, 1931 to Benjamin Franklin Johnson and Katie Merle Smuin Johnson in Vernal. She married Theron Arneldon Davis on Oct. 4, 1947 in Vernal. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Dec. 8, 1955.

Lola married just before her 16th birthday; because of that she did not finish school. In 1964 after being employed as a substitute mail carrier, she decided to take night classes to get her diploma in order to obtain full-time employment with the U.S. Postal Service.

She was a full-time wife and mother, part-time mail carrier, helped Theron on the farm and worked on her education. On June 11, 1981, after night classes for 17 years, Lola graduated from high school with her daughter, Anita.

Lola was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served many years as secretary of Primary and Jr. Sunday School. She also served in the Vernal Temple since its opening in 1997.

Lola loved her family and cherished the time she could spend with them. She loved embroidering, crochet and making quilts to give to her family for birthdays and Christmas. Last year she made 52 quilts. Her quilts will be a cherished part of all their lives. She loved sightseeing in the mountains and fishing. If you couldn't find her and Theron, you could be sure they were fishing someplace.

Lola is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Theron; four children, Bonnie (Austin) Kendall, Ardeldon (Deborah) Davis, Anita (Roger) Heritage and Loretta Heisa; 18 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

She will be missed!
