Mrs. Mary L.Jackson, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eula Waller, Five miles east of Carnegie at 8 p.m. Tuesday, were held at 2:30 Wednesday in the Baptist church with Rev. J.S. Head, Waurika, a former pastor, officiating and Rev. C.N. Price assisting. Arrangements were in charge of the Pitcher Funeral Home and burial was in the Carnegie cemetery. She had been ill since the first of the year.
Mrs. Jackson was born April 15, 1870, near Willow Point, Parker county, Texas. She came to Carnegie from Cotton county in 1929 and has made her home here since. She was converted early in life and joined the Baptist church.
Survivors are three sons, Ben C. Jackson of the home address and Clarence C. Jackson and Thomas Jackson of Walter; a daughter, Mrs. Waller; a brother, Robert C. Hinds, Penwell, Texas, and a sister, Mrs. C.J. Word, McAlester, New Mexico. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mrs. Harry Stocking, a granddaughter of Mrs. Jackson, came here several weeks ago from Chicago to nurse her. A number of friends of the family from Walters attended the funeral.

Her maiden name was Walker. Hinds was her stepfather and the man who raised her. Her mother was Harriet Arene Long Walker Hinds.
