George, who resided in Marshallton, Delaware, served as a Corporal, Unit 1967, Headquarter's Company, Quartermaster's Corp, U.S. Army during World War II.

Prior to the war he was a member of the Delaware National Guard.

His National Guard unit was called into full time active Army service on September 16, 1940, prior to the war, from Wilmington, Delaware. He was noted, at that time, as being employed as a Plumber and also as Single, without dependents.

George was killed in an auto accident in Victorville, California while serving as a truck driver at Camp Irwin, California.
