Frederick William Boettcher, 79, a resident of Davenport 68 years, died at 2:40 o'clock yesterday afternoon in his home, 1928 East Eleventh street, after a lingering illness.

Mr. Boettcher was employed as an inspector in the woodwork department at Rock Island arsenal 30 years and was a member of the 15-year club of the arsenal.

He was born in Germany Oct. 1, 1860, and came to the United States, directly to Davenport, in 1872. He married Miss Mary Worker in Davenport May 21, 1890. She died Aug. 27, 1923.

Mr. Boettcher was a member of Davenport lodge, No. 37, Masons; Zarapath consistory, and Kaaba temple, Shrine.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frank Wigglesworth; a son, Lloyd; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Hartman, Mrs. Fred LeClaire and Miss Tillie Boettcher; two brothers, Herman and Charles, and six grandchildren, all of Davenport.

Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in Runge mortuary, with Davenport lodge of Masons in charge. Burial will be in Oakdale cemetery.
