Walter Scott Sixkiller, a 5/8 Cherokee by blood [Dawes Roll #2323], was born Oct. 10, 1856 at an unspecified place at Cherokee Indian Territory, now northeastern Oklahoma, son of Arch Sixkiller and his wife Charlotte. He d. Jan. 18, 1928 at unincorporated Bunch, Bunch Twp. in southwest Adair County, Oklahoma.

Walter m. 1) by 1874 Jennie (Soap) Bigfeather, dau. of Soap and Jennie Bigfeather, b. circa 1854 at the Cherokee Indian Territory. One child was b. of this marriage, son John Bell "Ute" Sixkiller, b. circa 1874.

Walter m. 2) in 1875 [his testimony], Julia Ivey Thomas, a 1/8 Cherokee [Dawes Roll #2324], dau. of Thomas Tolliver "Toll" Thomas and Martha Copeland, b. June 30, 1858 at the Cherokee's Delaware District of Indian Territory, now Delaware County, Oklahoma. She d. Oct. 5, 1902 at the town of Stilwell in the Cherokee's Flint District, now Adair County, Oklahoma. They had ten children who will be summarized at a later date.
