Funeral services for Reinhold W. Duecker were held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Beckmann Funeral Home with Rev. Helmuth Gold of Alice conducting the rites.
A duet sang at the services at the funeral home. Interment was in the City Cemetery.
Mr. Duecker died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds at 7:00am Thursday. He had been in ill health for some time. At the time of his death he had reached the age of 89 years, five months and six days. He was born December 18, 1866 in Gillespie County the son of August and Minna Knetsch Duecker. On January 2, 1894, he and Miss Amalia Doell were united in marriage. They lived in the Rheingold Community for 36 years, afer which they moved to Johnson City, where they resided for 21 years. They moved to Fredericksburg 5 years ago.
Surviving are his widow; three sons, Paul Duecker, Johnson City, Walter and Monroe Duecker, Fredericksburg; a daughter, Ernestine, Mrs. Oswald Eckhardt, Fredericksburg, six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were one child: Felix Duecker, five brothers: Henry, Charlie, Albert, Otto and Frederich Duecker; two half-brothers, August Duecker and Willie Lindemann; five sisters: Mrs. Louise Arhelger, Mrs. Amalia Schaefer, Mrs. Katie Herber, Mrs. Rosalie Grobe and Mrs. Mathilda Hitzfeld; and one grandchild.
