Frank Wilke served with the Louisville Division of Police from 1926 until his death. He died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds that he received after stopping an individual in a stolen automobile at 8th and Oldham Sts. Officer Wilke's partner shot and killed the subject who had stolen the vehicle and murdered Officer Wilke.
