Local Kin Is Killed In Car Crash
A former Mountain View woman, Mrs. Bennie Tidmore, 70, and her 15-year-old grandson, were listed among the state's weekend traffic victims. The two were killed in a car-truck crash near Wetumka Friday. She was a sister-in-law of Mrs. L.C. Crye of Carnegie.
Funeral services for the two crash victims were held Tuesday morning at Oklahoma City, and short services were held Tuesday afternoon at Mountain View. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery.
Mrs. Tidmore, who had lived at Mountain View until about two years ago when she moved to Oklahoma City, was killed when the car in which she was riding with her son, Lacy Olen Tidmore, 38, of Oklahoma City, and his family skidded on wet pavement and slid into the path of an oncoming pickup truck driven by Oliver Altman, 48, Wewoka.
Kerry M. Evans, 15, the second victim, was a grandson of the former Mountain View woman and the son of Mrs. Ilda Jean Evans, 34, Oklahoma City, who suffered chest injuries.
Lacy Tidmore is in a critical condition at Baptist Memorial hospital in Oklahoma City. He is paralyzed from the waist down.
Krystal Ann Tidmore and Steven Mark Tidmore, 13, daughter and son of the driver, and Mrs. Joyce Tidmore, 35, the driver's wife, were hospitalized but were less seriously injured.
Survivors of the Mountain View woman include three sons, Ledell Tidmore, Mountain View, Leonard Tidmore, Watsonville, and Lacy, Oklahoma City; four daughters, Mrs. Doris Ward, of Carolina, Mrs. Norene Evans, Dallas, Mrs. Lorene Samples, Gridley, Calif., and Mrs. Ilda Jean Evans, Oklahoma City; an a sister-in-law, Mrs. L.C.
