Love Daniel served the Confederacy in Company I, 20th Regiment, NC Infantry, C.S.A. He was wounded at Malvern Hill, VA in 1862. After his return to duty, he was promoted to Corporal and fought at Mechanicsville, Cold Harbor, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville and Gettysburg.
After the war, he returned to Louisa and his farm and eight children.
