Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Tannehill Zion Hill Baptist Church for Mrs. Nancy Jane Burnett Thames, 69, who died Friday night, March 19, 1948, in an Alexandria hospital. Final rites were conducted by Rev. Aubrey Boswell, pastor of the Sikes church, assisted by the Rev. Suzan of Alexandria. Her death followed a continued illness.

Born in Jackson parish, Mrs. Thames had lived most of her life in Winn. She was the widow of the late W. C. Thames, and since his death had made her home with her son, W. J. Thames of Route 1, Dodson.

She is survived by three sons, W. J. of Route 1, Dodson; J. A. of Shreveport, and R. A. of Columbia; one daughter, Mrs. P. W. Luzader of Alexandria; sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Sally Miller of Jackson, Miss.; and one brother I. I. Burnett of Route 1 Dodson.
