Carleen Benton, 76, of Ash died June 19, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Whiteville, NC on April 18, 1934, a daughter of Carlie Alton Benton and Lula Mae Sellers Benton.
Surviving are her husband, Maynard "B.J." Chafin; two sons, James Peter "Jimmy" Rooney and his wife, Susan, of Barnegat, NJ and Timothy "Timmy" Rooney and his wife, Laura Ann, of McDonough, GA; a daughter, Pamela Rooney of Ocean Isle Beach; a brother, Odell Benton and his wife, Jean, of Shallotte; two sisters, Jeanette Sabiston of Shallotte and Christine Jones of Cocoa, FL.
Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 22, 2010 by The Rev. Jason Benton.
