Arnold, who resided in Georgetown, Delaware, served as a Corporal with Battery B, 776th Field Artillery Battalion, U.S. Army during World War II.

He was "Killed In Action" in Germany during the war.

He had served in the Army for one year and six months at the time of his death and was awarded the Purple Heart.
