Wayne Leroy Reed was born to Oliver Powell Fullerton and Pearl Reed Fullerton. Wayne's grandparents, David B. and Stella Smith Reed raised Wayne and his brother, David, as their own after their mother's death in 1925. Wayne attended New Sweden Elementary and Idaho Falls High School.
Wayne married Helen Irene Pickett, March 15, 1942, in Idaho Falls. A year later he was inducted into the U.S. Army. He was in an artillery unit and served in Europe until the end of World War II. Wayne's and Helen's children are Bradley Wayne, Jonathan Scott (Sally Swanson), Laurel Wynne (Steven Wackerli), Connie Sue (Ronald Smith). He farmed in New Sweden for twenty five years and then sold farm equipment until his retirement in 1983.
Wayne loved fly fishing. Wayne and Helen spent the past 15 summers in Island Park, Fremont County, Idaho.
Wayne passed away due to the affects of Parkinson's Disease on April 21, 2001 at Life Care Center in Idaho Falls.
