Sara graduated from the Tilton Seminary in 1865. She was a teacher in the public schools, and at Poultney Vermont Seminary. Sara was also in city missionary work at Troy, Rensselaer, New York for the Second Street Presbyterian Church. Since 887 she had maintained a mission home at 3,337 6th Avenue, Troy, Rensselaer, New York. Sara was formerly a Methodist but later she was connected with the Christian Alliance.
