Glode Requa, a tailor, s. of Samuel Requa and Maria van Wart, was b. circa Oct. 1790 prob. at the Town(ship) of Greenburgh, Westchester County, NY. He d. umarried on Mar. 5, 1873 at Kendall, NY. His gravestone states he died on the 6th of March whereas the published announcement of his death states he died on the 5th of March. His age at death on his gravestone is sufficiently faded preventing the number of days to be adequately read. Thus, his death in the month of October 1790 without a specific day has been used.
In the 1850 census he was residing at Greenburgh with four of his unmarried siblings: Isaac, Nathaniel, Clarissa and Mary. In the 1860 census he was the head of his own household at Kendall, Orleans County, NY with his youngest sister Amy, the widow of Warner Wilsea, in his household. In the 1870 census he was still residing at Kendall in the household now headed by his widowed sister Amy (Requa) Wilsea.
