SAEGERTOWN - Saegertown - Gloria L. Mook, 82, of 22533 Fry Road, Saegertown, went to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at home.
She was born in Meadville on July 3, 1927, a daughter of the late Albert and Ada Roberts Brink. On Sept. 7, 1946, she married James A. Mook; he survives.
She was a faithful member of Christ Evangelical Free Church, Saegertown, for many years. She had previously attended Cussewago United Methodist Church where she led the Cancer Society. She attended Monday evening Bible study even while she was ill and was considered a prayer warrior until the end.
She attended Meadville then Cambridge Springs schools. In her earlier years she was employed by the former Talon Inc. of Meadville. She previously had been employed by J.C. Penney Co. A dedicated and proud homemaker, she was a sales representative for Swipe while raising her four children. She took great pleasure in helping her family and neighbors. She loved crocheting for her family, church family and friends.
In addition to her husband, James, of 63 years, she is survived by four children, Dawna L. Tracy of Saegertown, Judy J. Burchill and her husband, James, of Cochranton, James S. Mook and his wife, Kimberly, of Deckard, Tenn., and Tom E. Mook and his wife, Carole, of Cambridge Springs; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Davis and her husband, Scott, of Meadville; two brothers, Ted Brink and his wife, Nancy, of Erie and Bill Brink and his wife, Judy, of Ohio; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Albert and Ada Brink, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Adsit; and a brother, Albert Brink Jr.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral will be at Christ Evangelical Free Church, 19682 Hill Road, Saegertown, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with Jeff Wilson, pastor, and the Rev. Richard Haemer, pastor of Saegertown Community Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Venango Cemetery.
