WHEATLAND — Hershel Eugene Reynolds, 81, died at 12:32 p.m. Sunday at Washington Nursing Center. Born July 15, 1928, in Knox County, he was the son of Noah and Goldie (McLaughlin) Reynolds. He attended Wheatland schools and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had worked at the Prestolite Battery factory. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, Eagles and the Moose Lodge. He played in the Country Coachman band for several years. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cassie and Donald Spears of Yellville, Ark.; sisters, Mary Lou Decker, Oneda Cornelius, Wilma Grove and Alice (John) King, all of Washington; grandchildren, Christopher Tanksley and Cara McBride; great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Tea, Brayton, Caleb, Emily and Destiny. His wife, Josephine (Franklin) Reynolds, whom he married Feb. 19, 1953, died Nov. 17, 2005. His parents; one daughter, Robin Reynolds; one son, Rickie Reynolds; one sister, Connie Pickett; and one brother, Richard Reynolds, are also deceased. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Gill Chapel, with Rev. Frank Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Wheatland Cemetery, with full military rites conducted by the American Legion and V.F.W.
