ASHEBORO - Maxine Hill Pugh, 89, of 130 Loflin Pond Road, Asheboro, died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Randolph Memorial Park and conducted by the Rev. Carol Dyson.

Mrs. Pugh was a native of Randolph County and retired from Acme-McCrary Hosiery Mill. She was a member of Asheboro United Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband of 73 years John Q. Pugh Jr.; sons Richard K. Pugh and his wife Betty, and Alan V. Pugh and his wife Mary Joan; sisters, Alberta Poole, Edith Sears, Ava Routh, and Allene Jarvis; half-sisters, Margaret Butler, Ann Robbins, Betty Greene, and Faye Phillips; half-brother Oscar Hill; grandsons, Ronnie Pugh and wife Teresa, Doug Pugh and wife Ruth, Steve Pugh and wife Tammy, Mike Pugh and wife Cathy, Julian Pugh and Worth Pugh; and great-grandchildren, Aaron, Tyson, Derek, Kathryn, John, Sarah, Kyle, Keli, Kasey, Kerry, and Karly Pugh.

The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.
