DIED. Aldrich--At his residence in Elmore, O., on Tuesday evening, August 7th, 1877, after a short and severe illness of congestion of the bowels, George W. Aldrich, aged 72 years, 6 months and 21 days.
Mr. Aldrich was born in Uxbridge, Mass., January 15, 1805. He came to Ohio in his 21st year, and in his 23d year was converted, and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church.
Father Aldrich was an affectionate husband, a kind and loving father, a true friend and a sincere Christian, and died, trusting in Jesus as a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. His sickness was short and severe, but borne with great patience. He leaves an aged companion, several children and a large circle of friends to mourn, but they mourn not as those who have no hope. "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord."
Mr. Aldrich was a brother of Mr. C. M. Aldrich of Berea, and was one of the early settlers and long a resident of Brunswick, Medina county. He afterwards resided in Pittsfield, Lorain county and about five years since removed to Elmore, Ottawa county, where he died.
