Emma K. Keechler Ashburn was born April 19, 1889 on a farm north of Shelton, to Frederick and Clara Bowman Keechler. She grew up in the Shelton community and married Harry B. Ashburn in Gibbon. They made their home in Gibbon where he was in the milling business.
Emma died December 11, 1978 in a North Platte Nursing Home. Services were held at the Miller-Godberson Mortuary with interment in Gibbon Riverside Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry in 1942 and sons Neil in 1971 and Nelson in 1974.
She is survived by three sisters, Mrs Laura Hunsberger of Shelton, Mrs Bertha Fuller of Martinez, California, Mrs. Edna Sherard of Grand Island, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
