Scientist. A physicist, he exlplored experimentation in several different areas, pioneering lighter-than-air craft with the launching the dirigible 'Belgique' in 1907, pioneering early radio with the starting the first regular radio broadcasts of concerts in 1914, and studied and introduced the concept of microfilm.
