Anglers Find Body in River

Superior Mont. (AP)-- A man's body found near Superior by Memorial Day fisherman was identified Friday as C.E. Jewett, 41, who disappeared from his home at Kellogg,Idaho, last Dec. 12.
Mineral County Sheriff Francis Tamietti said the badly decomposed body of the World War II veteran was identified from a set of military-made false teeth bearing his name and serial number.
The man's parents came to Superior from Kellogg Friday and confirmed the identification from clothing and a watch.
"So far as we know, it was a normal death," Tamietti said. No inquest is planned."
"No foul play was involved and there was no explanation for the time lapse between December and the death.
Jewett had been dead two or three weeks, possibly longer, when his body was found two miles east of Superior between U.S. Highway 10 and the Clark Fork River. It was found by Leonard Schaffer and his son Lenhie, both of Superior.
