Mr. William E. "Bud" Rogers, 72, resident of E 15th Street in Columbia and a longtime resident of the Hill Town Community, passed away Tuesday at Signature Health Care.

Funeral services for Mr. Rogers will be conducted 10:00 AM Friday in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Mark Thomas and Sister Inez Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Neapolis Cemetery with military honors provided by the US Army. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born June 17th, 1937 in Giles County, he was the son of the late Eugene and Martha Abernathy Rogers. He was a retired mechanic from Columbia Radiator and had worked at Consolidated Aluminun and Wright & Lopez. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the Pentecostal Church of Christ.

Survivors include his children: Michael "Mike" Rogers of Santa Fe and William "Dale" (Gayle) Rogers of Lewisburg; sisters: Dorothy Headden, Barbara (Jimmy) Roland and Virginia (Jimmy) Sanders, all of Columbia, Bonnie (Terry) Lester of Culleoka, Betty (George) McClendon of Mt. Pleasant; brothers: John (Melba) Rogers and Ronald (Sonya) Rogers, both of Columbia; grandchildren: Miranda Hindman of Giles, CO. and Stephen Rogers of Hill Town, Corey and Cody Rogers, both of Lewisburg; great grandchildren: Bradley Ray Hindman, Jr. and Christian Eugene Hindman, both of Giles Co. He was preceded in death by a brother: Andrew "Andy" Rogers.

Pallbearers will be Terry Lester, Jimmy Sanders, Jimmy Roland, Layne McClendon, Corey Rogers and Kevin Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Terri Sanders, Kayla Lemire, members of the Pentacostal Church of Christ and the employees of Signature Health Care.
