Son of David Meadows and Lottie Lorena Miller Meadows Bilterman Swift; Brother to David E. Meadows, and half sibling to Herman Bilterman, Jr. and Laurena Bilterman Ostring, all deceased.

Nial and first wife Ida Patience (Pat) Meadows Ryan had 5 children:

*Nial David, b.15 Apr 1926, d.03 Sep 1991
*Gretchen Mae, living
*Sally Ann, b. 29 Jan 1929, d. 08 Apr 2012
*Billie Jo, living
*Richard Lee, b.23 Aug 1932, d.30 Nov 1981

Nial and second wife Lois Lillian Cook Meadows Masters had two children:
*Frank Albert Meadows b. 30 June, 1937, d. 06 April, 1952 (Find A Grave Memorial# 53212144)
*Niala Rene, living

Nial and third wife Velma E. Blamey Winters Meadows had 2 children:
*Colleen Marie, living
*Susan Elizabeth, living

Nial worked as a laborer during the Depression years in Wyoming and later had a small ranch there. In these early years he was a 'Cowboy' in Wyoming and even rode in the Sheridan, WY rodeo. His favorite horse was named Calico and she loved ginger snaps. He was as close to a Horse Whisperer as I have known and really had a knack with animals.

He always said there were no BAD horses, only bad owners. He once rescued a horse who had trampled a man and said it was one of his best horses. (I think the rescue involved a LOT of talking - because the horse was to be shot). I still have his horse blanket. He traded a cow for it to a group of hungry Native Americans - this was during the depression years.

Later he worked in Des Moines, IA as a Cream Tester and then was a bricklayer and concrete mason for many years. Prior to his retirement, due to illness, he ran a vending business.

He loved the outdoors and flowers and he was a Master Gardener. His yard was a showpiece. He had a 50 foot rose arbor across the entire width of one lot. He tended his flowers with TLC.

Dad was also a Rock Hound and made trips to AZ and elsewhere on rock hunting expeditions. He spent many happy hours creating beautiful jewelry and other masterpieces from stones. Even our ordinary sidewalks at home were inlaid with beautiful stone work.

He will always be missed.
