Robert, 81. passed away Friday.

He was born the son of Fred and Lauretta Beachnau.

Mr. Beachnau was a former member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and an Honorary Life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 788.

Bob was an enthusiastic MSU Spartans and Detroit Tigers fan. Before retiring, he worked as a buyer for Warner & Swasey, Duplex Division, and clerked at Toolans and Eric's Markett.

Robert is preceded in death by his brothers, Laverne, Carl, Gerald and Murl; and sister Carolyn Cortright.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy; children, Dan (Jeanne), Ken (Jeannine), Donna (Monty) Small, Karen (Eric) Wegener, Linda (Tom) Getzmeyer, and Loretta Williams; brother, Bill; 13 grandchildren, Heather (Derek) Miller, Brett (Andrea) Beachnau, Chris (Noelle) Wegener, Shellie Wegener, Adam Wegener, Sara Wegener, Robert Getzmeyer, Megan Getzmeyer, Autumn Langford, Julian Langford, Cassidy Williams, Chloe Beachnau, and Melissa Beachnau; great- grandchildren, Emersyn Miller, Jayden Miller, and Tamara Richardson; foster grandson, Ashley Henry; and many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Klein and Fr. Brian Barrons as Co-Celebrants. A rosary was prayed.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sparrow Home Hospice. The family wishes to thank Terry H. of Sparrow Home Hospice for her wonderful care and compassion given to Bob.
