Kenneth W.Smith, 81, of 256 Stonehouse Road, Carlisle, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000 in Carlisle Hospital.

Born July 25, 1918 in Walnut Bottom, he was the son of the late Walter E. and Mary Bell Gilbert Smith and the widower of June R. Warner Smith.

Mr. Smith was a former truck driver for Daily Express and Motor Freight Express, Carlisle. He was a member of White Circle Club, American Legion Post 101, Moose Lodge and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1299, all in Carlisle, and Teamster Local 776, Harrisburg. Surviving are two brothers, Lowery of Newville and Charles of Carlisle; a sister, Frances Smith of Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Township.

Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
