Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon by Rev. D.K. Foster, of Caruthersville, for James. F. Franklin, of Micola, who died at the family home Thursday evening. With the German Undertaking Co. in charge, burial was made in the Little Prairie cemetery at Caruthersville.
Mr. Franklin had suffered for a number of years with kidney trouble, and death was attributed to acute nephritis.
The deceased was a prominent farmer, and a highly respected citizen of the Micola community, and until about two months ago was a member of the school board of Steele Consolidated District No. 8.

James F. Franklin was born at Point Pleasant, Mo., August 31, 1877. Departed this life July 12, 1934 at the age of 56 years, 10 months and 12 days, at his home at Micola.
In 1898 he was united in marriage to Miss Ida Summers. To this union was born one daughter.
His wife preceded him in death several years ago and he was married to Miss Lula McIntire in 1909, and to this union was born four children, Fred, Jr., and Robert, of Micola, Mrs. Edith Greene of Blytheville, and Mrs. Jewell Crapper, of Houston, Texas, who all survive him. He is also survived by the daughter of his first marriage, and by three sisters, Mrs. Roberta Daughterty, of Dexter, Mrs. Bobbie Brown, of St. Louis, and Mrs. Daisy Jeffries, of Marion, Ind.
