Alonzo Hamblet Funeral (1863 - 1937)
Funeral services for Alonzo Hamblet, 74 years old. Pacific Northwest pioneer who died Sunday in Ketchikan will be held at 11 o’clock tomorrow at the Rafferty Undertaking Company. Mr. Hamblet was born in the San Juan Islands in 1863 He lived in Seattle sixty years before going to Alaska. The Ballard High School now stands on his old homestead site, and Alonzo Street, in the Ballard district, is named in his honor. He was a retired engineer and member of the Marine Engineers’ Beneficial Association, No. 38.

Alonzo Street (Ballard, a neighborhood in Seattle) – named after Alonzo Hamblet (1863-1937), son of Eli & Mary. Was renamed after the annexation of Ballard and is now Alonzo Ave NW.
