H/O Hazel H. StanleyMr. Hal Bremen Stanley, 81, husband of Mrs. Hazel Hudspeth Stanley, of Dobson passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Surry County on April 17, 1928 to the late John Lemule and Wisa Coe Stanley. My Stanley was a retired farmer and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, he leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Hazel Hudspeth Stanley of the home; three daughters, Cathlene Stanley Burrus of Yadkinville, Deborah Lambert of Mount Airy and Carol Joyce of Dobson; a son, Evangelist Richard Whitaker; twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his first wife, Addie Whitaker Stanley and a brother, Edward Stanley. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday May 2, 2009 at Stony Knoll United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. Jimmy Tucker and Evangelist Richard Whitaker with burial to follow. The family will receive friends on Friday from 7 to 9 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Hal Stanley Funeral Fund c/o Moody-Davis Funeral Home P.O. Box 295 Dobson, NC 27030
