He was born in Village Mills, Texas, and was married to Marie Neighbors on September 7, 1929, in Sondheimer, Louisiana.
He had lived in the Hobbs area since 1945, moving from Gladwater, Texas. He was a retired carpenter foreman for Warren Petroleum, and a member of Monument Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Dickerson, in 1978.
Survived by one son, Louis "Bud" Dickerson of Odessa, Texas; and four daughters, Marie Naatz of Hobbs, Sue Astin of Yuma, Ariz., Inez Fann of Crane, Texas and Charlene Dickerson of Oklahoma City, Okla.
