C. D. Robinson, Pioneers' Son, Dies Suddenly

The Calvin chapel was nearly filled Monday with persons attending the funeral services for Charles Robinson, 78, a lifelong Hartford resident who died Friday at the home of his only daughter, Mrs. Raymond Dyer. He suffered a sudden heart attack while calling on the Dyers to see new twin calves.

Mr. and Mrs. Robinson, residents of Miles District, had celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary earlier this year. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Robinson, Hartford pioneers.

Surviving are his wife, Dora; three sons, Clarence of Omaha, Neb., Floyd of Volinia, and Myrl of Lawrence; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as Mrs. Dyer. The Rev. William E. Goltz officiated at the services and burial was at Maple Hill cemetery. Pallbearers were Warren Parks, Thomas Minshall, Glenn Meachum, Matt Thar, Harry Allen, and Orlen Dade.

Among those from out of town who came for the services were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Srackangast and Dan of Buckley, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hail and Mrs. George Elwell and her two daughters, all of Muskegon; Mrs. Maude Bissell of Buchanan; Clarence Robinson, Omaha, Neb.; Mrs. Mildred McDonald and Mrs. Marion MacFarlane, Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gleason, Benton Harbor; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Srackangast and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Srackangast and Ruth Ann, all of Galesburg.

Others were Mr. and Mrs. James Sirks and Dwane, of Marshall; Mrs. Kathryn Holdridge, Paw Paw; rs. Dennis Hurley, Mrs. Doris Van Gorder, Mrs. Delberta Browin and Mrs. Greata Weaver, all of Kalamazoo; Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Retz, Riverside; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Srackangast, Mr. and Mrs. John Srackangast, Mr. and Mrs. George Srackangast; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Robinson, Volinia; Mr. and Mrs. Myrl Robinson and family of Lawrence; Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Curtis, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hope and Mrs. Laura Hawks, all of Watervliet.
