Emmett Lee Wester was born in Dallas Texas in the Oakcliff area to Addie Bell(Laird)Wester and John W. Wester on April 2,1916 moved to Ark. when he was A child. Joined the Army in Oct. 1941 took basic training at camp Robinson Ark.Voluntered for the Paratroopers early 1942 graduated March 21 1942 he was assigned to the 503rd parachute infantry regiment and was shipped to the South Pacific he took part in five combat missions including 3 combat jumps one of which was on the island of Corrigadore"The Rock" he was discharged as A Sgt. and awarded the bronze star after that mission.
