W.N. BEARD

GRANDVIEW--W.N. Beard of Grandview, a native of Waxahachie, died Tuesday night at a Cleburne hospital. He was 85.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ at Grandview with arrangements being by the Clayton Kay Funeral Home at Grandview.
Mr. Beard, who was born on March 6, 1886, was a retired farmer. He had lived in the Maypearl area most of his life.
Survivors include his widow; nine children, Mrs. C.D. Hutchins of Maypearl, Mrs. Jimmy Ebert of Mesquite, Bonnie Beard of Plainview, Carl Beard of Azle, Georgia Beard, Mrs. James B. Byrd and Mrs. Joe Nestrole, all of Dallas, Mrs. Lewis Williams of Mansfield, Mrs. Howard Williams of Pasadena; 22 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Ira Beard of Itasca and C. P. Beard of Abernathy.

W.N. BEARD SERVICES HELD HERE THURSDAY

Newt Beard, age 85, passed away about 10 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Mr. Beard was returned to the hospital about 4 p.m. Tuesday. He had been a hospital patient last week, returning to his home here the latter part of the week.
William Newton Beard was born March 6, 1886 in Waxahachie. His parents were William F. and Georgia Ann Howard Beard.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Church of Christ.
Beard was married to Miss Willie Ethel Johnson on December 12, 1912 in Ellis County. He and his wife, also an Ellis County resident, continued to live in that county in Files Valley area until they moved to Johnson County about 25 years ago.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Bonnie H. Beard of Plainview and Carl Beard of Azle; seven daughters, Mrs. James Byrd, Mrs. Joe Nestrole and Miss Georgia Beard of Dallas; Mrs Jimmy Ebert of Mesquite; Mrs. C. D. Hutchins of Maypearl, Mrs. Howard Williams of Deer Park and Mrs. Lewis Williams of Mansfield; two brothers, C.P. Beard of Abernathy and Ira Beard of Itasca; 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ. Officiating was a former minister, Mr. Leon Frederick of Itasca.
Burial was in Grandview Cemetery directed by Clayton Kay Funeral Home.

W.N. Beard Rites Held On Thursday At Grandview

Funeral services for William N. Beard, 85, of Grandview, who passed away Tuesday night at 10 o'clock in Johnson County Memorial Hospital in Cleburne, were conducted Thursday afternoon, May 6, at 4 o'clock, from the Grandview Church of Christ.
Mr. Leon Frederick was the officiating minister.
William Newton Beard was the brother of Ira Beard of Itasca and was well known in this section of Hill County.
He was a native of Ellis County, where he was born on March 6, 1886. During his active years Mr. Beard had engaged in farming over a long period. He retired about 15 years ago.
Internment was in the Grandview Cemetery.
Mr. Beard is survived by his wife, Mrs. Willie Johnson Beard, of Grandview; seven daughers Mrs. Mildred Byrd, Mrs. Nela Nestrole, Miss Georgia Beard, and Mrs. Catherine Ebert, all of Dallas; Mrs. Willie Mae Hutchins of Maypearl; Mrs. Ima Jean Williams of Houston; Mrs. Pattie Ruth Williams of Mansfield; two sons, Bonnie H. Beard of Plainview; and Carl W. Beard of Fort Worth.
Among other survivors are two brothers, Ira Beard of Itasca and C.P. Beard of Abernathy.
There are 22 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
