SCOTT LEROY BETTS, the many friends of Scott Betts were saddened to learn of his death which occurred 17 Mar 1928 at the home of his dau MrsFJ Connerly & MrConnerly. MrBetts suffered from diabetes & had been ill for several months, but was apparently feeling fairly well until a few days before his death. Scott Leroy Betts was born in PA, 16 May 1851.
He was married 9 Aug 1870 at Sheridan IA to Margaret Donahue & to this union 7 children were born. MrsJH Wallace-Boulder CO; CharlesB-Winnebago NE; MrsFJ Connerly-NorthBend; George-died in infancy; Harry-Fremont; Thomas-Denver CO; & MrsIna Hoffman-Detroit MI. MrsBetts passed away 16 Sep 1924. Mr&Mrs Betts came to NE in 1887 & located on a farm 4mi west of NorthBend where they lived until about 20yrs ago when they retired from farming & moved to North Bend where they spent the remainder of their days.
Services were held Monday at the Christian Church conducted by RevJohn Hewitson. Singing was by a quartette composed of JR Tapster, CK Watson, MrsAlex Thom & MrsRoy Cusak. Interment was made in Woodland Cem. Relatives from out of town who were here to attend the funeral included Mr/Mrs CB Betts & children-Winnebago; MrsStanley Neilsen-Fremont; Basil Connerly-Lincoln; Mr/Mrs Harry Betts-Fremont.
