Born in Menard, TX on Mar. 27, 1917
Died Feb. 16, 2008 and resided in San Antonio, TX.

Col. Perry Menzies, USAF (Ret.) went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at age 90. He was born on March 27, 1917 in Menard, TX.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary Louise Menzies of San Antonio; and his two sons: Stephen and wife, Sally of San Antonio and Winston and wife, Donna of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren: Krissy Hirtz, Ron Menzies, Monica Menzies and John Menzies.

In 1935, Perry graduated from Gorman High School in Gorman, Texas and in 1940, graduated from Texas A&M. He completed Flying Cadet training and graduated as a pilot and 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps.

He proudly served as a pilot in WWII and completed many combat missions during the Korean conflict. Perry was Commander of the 308th Air Refueling Squadron in Dover, Delaware, where he retired as a full colonel in 1963.

He retired again, several years later, from the San Antonio Health Department. He was a past member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Director of the Alpha House and was a current member of First Presbyterian Church where he participated in many service ministries.

He will always be remembered for his character, dedication to the Lord and his unselfish service to others.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 21st from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
