Annabeth Ellen Swearengen Adlesperger Wertz, 78, of Pollock, died Thursday morning (March 14, 1991) at Sullivan County Memorial Hospital, Milan.

The daughter of Thomas J. and Sally Franklin Swearengen, she was born January 8, 1913 in Sullivan County. On September 1, 1934, she married Vane Adlesperger, who preceded her in death in 1971. On February 15, 1981, she married M.C. Wertz who preceded her in death on December 20, 1989. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas M. Adlesperger of Pollock, and William James Adlesperger of Green Castle; one daughter, Mrs. James (Sallie) Morlan of Pollock; one sister, Margaret Myers of Newtown; eleven grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was reared in Sullivan County and lived in the state of Illinois from 1948 to 1968. She later moved to Newtown for several years and to Houston, Missouri before returning to Pollock in 1989. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon (March 16, 1991) at the Schoene-Wright Funeral HOme, Milan, with the Rev. Larry Hershberger of Chillicothe officiating. Burial will be in the Brackett Cemetery east of Newtown.
