Her father was Jurgen Lamp and her mother, Caroline (Reuter) Lamp. They moved from Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin to Plankinton, Aurora County, South Dakota between 1882 and 1885.

She married Oliver A. Drake about 1892 in South Dakota. He died 1900. She married second to Randolph C. Drake.

She had been ill for several months when she passed away in a Nursing home in Longview, WA.

( Harrington City records) "Graveside services for Mrs. Edith Drake, 88, were held at Hillcrest Cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan 27. Mrs. Drake, who came from North Dakota six years ago to reside with her daughter, Evelyn Drake, at Longview, died in a nursing home at Longview where she had been ill many months. Danekas Funeral Home of Ritzville was in charge of the services, and Rev Berton Connerly was officiating clergyman. Mrs. Drake (Edith Lamp) was a sister of the late Lamp Brothers—Edward, Ernest and W F and aunt of Ray Lamp of Spokane, and great aunt of Clare Houck of Harrington. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lamp and Chris of Spokane, and Miss Beatrice Johnson of Longview, joined Miss Evelyn Drake, and the Clare Houcks here for the rites." (Citizen: 2-01-1962)
