Son of George Moore and Almeda Massey Moore.

Leroy, who resided at 923 Gilpin Avenue, Wilmington, Delaware, served as a Private First Class and Cook, Company B, 104th Infantry, 26th Infantry Division, Third Army, U.S. Army during World War II.

He was "Killed In Action" at Burgaltroff, France during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.

He had served the Army for two years and ten months at the time of his death.

Leroy's burial card notes that his headstone was to show "Delaware" ... it is unknown why "Maryland" is shown instead.
