William graduated from the Ohio Medical College, (Univ. of Cincinnati Medical School)and interned in Cincinnati before removing to Marion, Ohio. Dr. Denman had a thriving medical practice in Marion until he was forced to retire due to his health. His marriage to Caroline Beatty, the daughter of General John Beatty(Civil War/Ohio)and Congressman from Ohio's 8th district. The marriage was in Columbus, Ohio; 2 Nov. 1886. After Dr. Denman's death, his widow would marry the father of President Warren G. Harding's wife(Florence) in Marion, OH. July 1907, therefore becoming a step mother to a first lady.

Dr. Denman also had the task of recovering his brother John's remains in Findlay, Ohio and bringing them back to Piqua for burial.
