Heart Attack at Indian Valley Golf Club

Hyrum Harold Droubay, 74, died Thursday, September 19, 1996 in Novato.

He served in the Army Air Corps as an Engine Mechanic Instructor on B24s during WWII in Biloxi, MS.

Hy moved to Marin from Salt Lake City, Utah in 1947. For the next 30 years he worked in various aspects of the automotive trade in Marin County from owning his own business to managing others. He formally retired in 1974.

An avid golf enthusiast, Hy was a member of the Bell Golf Club of Marin for over 20 years.

He is survived by his Wife Patricia Droubay of Novato, his sisters Ada Fern Capps, of OR., Florence Harteloo, of WA., Idona Fossom of Santa Rosa, his children Steven Droubay and Deborah Droubay of Rohnert Park, Harold Caputo of CO., Dona Ridley of TX., Diane Scott of OR. His grandchildren are Bradley Droubay, James, Dacha, Heidi and Heather Scott, David Ridley Jr., Mark Ridley and Brian Matney, and nine great-grandchildren.

No services will be held and it is requested that donations be made to your favorite charity. A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
