Harold Vajgrt was born Jan. 18, 1940 in State Center, IA. He enlisted in the United States Army where he served until receiving his honorable discharge in 1961. On Easter Sunday (2 April) of 1961, Harold was united in marriage to Frances Anne Feucht in Mamou, Louisiana. They made their home in Marshalltown where he was employed with Strand Bakery until her untimely passing in February 1965. On Nov. 26, 1965, he married Mary Fiscus in Kirksville, MO. Mr. Vajgrt was employed at Mid Equipment in Grundy Center and later with his brothers in Vajgrt Construction until becoming self-employed in 1975 as an excavating contractor, retiring in July 2000 due to ill health. Harold passed away Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003 at his home in Marshalltown, IA.
