Esther M. "Billie" Butler, 87, died Feb. 16, 2001 of natural causes at her Klamath Falls residence.

Mrs. Butler was born in Sioux City, Iowa to Chester and Minnie (Kirkpatrick) Merriam.

She did not travel much, but a tour of the Holy Land by she and her husband was a high point in their lives.

For many years, she was an active member of Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church.

She loved the Oregon Coast and spending time with her family. She also loved dancing.

Mrs. Butler was an Avon representative for many years and worked as a checker at the downtown Pay Less Drug Store and Emil's Low-Cost Super market in the Town & Country Shopping Center.

She was a window dresser for Montgomery Ward & Co. when the store was at North 9th and Pine Streets and a volunteer for the Klamath County Musuem.

Survivors include her children, Betty Radcliffe, Glenda and Marty Boyer, and Sherie Hartwell and her fiance, Ed Holcomb, all of Klamath Falls, and Bob Butler of Reno; grandchildren, Tom and Barbara Radcliffe, Margaret Anne and Jess Bourgeois, Holly and John Spruance, Darcel and Don Rose, Joel and Jackie Nelson, Dawn and Jeff Wick, and Jayme and Kirsten Harwell; gre-greandchildren, Regan and Will Radcliffe, Troy and Anne Marie Bourgeois, Christopher and Shalen Ross, Adamand Daneille Wick, and Megan Hartwell; and sister, Ruth Pfander.

She as preceded in death on Jan. 14, 1988 by her husband, Glen, and a sister.
