Fred Thomas Palmer was a native of Arizona and was raised in Taylor. He graduated from Snowflake Union High School in 1972. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Sydney, Australia from Jan. 1974 to Dec. 1975. He married Rebecca Jean Harvey in 1977 and graduated from Brigham Young University in August of 1978 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.

He began his career with Electronic Data Systems in 1978 and was employed with them until 2001. During his years with EDS, he and his family lived in Olympia, Washington; Montgomery, Alabama; Dallas, Texas; and Scottsdale, Arizona. He worked for United Health Group in Phoenix from 2003 until the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca; daughter Nicole Palmer Hale(Zachary Dylan Hale); son Jeffrey Scott Palmer; son Ryan Thomas Palmer; and grandson, Dylan Cole Hale. His siblings are Arvin Palmer, Steven Palmer, Sybil Palmer Corry, and Phyllis Palmer Peterson.

In addition to his parents, Roy and Lucille Palmer, he was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Arthur Palmer, and sister Connie Palmer Cook.
