She was a native of Gaston County, NC, and was the oldest daughter of the late Fred Marshall and Myrtle Riddle Howell.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 4:00 p.m., Sunday, April 08, 2007, First A.R. P. Church.

VISITATION: following the service at the church, She retired from F.C. Todd, Inc., also worked at the candy counter at Kress Store and Gaston Floral Gardens. She was an avid gardner with much love of flowers. Emily was a life long member of the First A.R.P. Church, Gastonia where she was very an active in the Women of the Church, Circle leader of the Cora Adams Circle, and the Keenagers, and sang in the choir. A special thanks to the staff of the Special Care Unit at Courtland Terrace who loved her like family for over 10 years
SURVIVORS: Niece. Peggy B. Smith and husband Mickey of Gastonia; Nephew, John Marshall Brown of Apex, NC; Great Nephew, Jay Smith of Gastonia
