A Mary E. Alexander age 41 the wife of Joe Alexander died at her home on 4 West Nevada street at 12:20 o'clock this morning of cancer of the stomach. Mary had been sick for more than a year and during most of that time she has suffered intensely.

Mary Etta Atwood was born in Whiteside county, Illinois on March 14, 1867.

She was married to Joseph Hudson Alexander on February 7, 1894 at Van Cleve, Iowa. To this union were born Wilma, Earl Myrtle & Lola

She is survived by her husband and four children. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Sarah Atwood, of this city and three brothers and a sister. The latter are Jerome Atwood, of Bovey, Minn.: Jacob Atwood, of Newburg: William Atwood, of this city, and Mrs. Clara Dannen, of Taintor.

Brief services will be held from the residence Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev M N Smith, officiating.

The body will be taken to Newburg Wednesday morning where funeral services will be held at 10:30 o'clock. The body was laid to rest in the Chester Center cemetery.
