ARCHITECT KIPP DIED TO-DAY
After a lingering illness of heart trouble, Architect Albert H. Kipp, of this city, died at his summer home in Dallas at 12:30 o'clock to-day. While death was sudden, it was not entirely unexpected. Mr Kipp was one of the most prominent architects in the city and was a great favorite among his many friends. For the past year he had been suffering from heart trouble and was not active in his profession. Three months ago his condition grew worse and he was removed to his cottage at Dallas. This morning he became seriously ill and before a physician could be summoned he died.
Mr Kipp was 56 years of age, and came to Wilkes Barre from New York about twenty years ago. For a numbers of years he was a member of the firm of Kipp and Podmore, which drew the plans of many of the large buildings in this city. Among the buildings he planned is the Anthracite building on West Market street, the home of A.J.Davis, on South Franklin street and the home of W.P.Billings at the corner of South River and Northampton street. He also prepared the plans for the First National bank, which is being erected on the Public Square.
As a citizen Architect Kipp was quiet and unassuming. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church and the Westmoreland Club. He is survived by his wife and one daughter Elizabeth.
No arrangements for the funeral have been made as yet.
