Catherine Elizabeth "Bette" Lyle Wicker,83, passed away on Monday, April 20th, 2009 at the Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, NY. Born on October 27, 1925 in Spring Valley, NY, Bette was the daughter of Roy Van Ness and Elizabeth (Kelley) Lyle. On June 5th, 1948, she married Carleton Forbes "Chub" Wicker. Chub predeceased her on February 3rd, 2005.. Bette's brother, Robert "Herm" Lyle, predeceased her on March 10th, 2008 at his home in Tupper Lake, NY. Bette is survived by her sons, Peter Carleton Wicker of Cornwall, NY and Jonathan Lyle Wicker of Millbrook, NY, her 4 grandchildren, Christopher M. Wicker of Viera, Florida; Peter J. Wicker of New Windsor, NY; Amanda E. Wicker of Boston, MA and Jonathan B. Wicker of Lindenhurst, NY as well as several great grandchildren, her 2 nieces, Jane Lyle Jaworski of Northfield, MA and Jessica Lyle Chaplin of Middlesex, VT, as well as several grandnieces and nephews and her sister-in-law, Mary Freer Lyle of Tupper Lake.
