In his earlier years, Don sailed on the Great Lakes, worked at Diamond Tool and currently he had been a self-employed mechanic.
Don was a member of the NRA and he was an avid Packer fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved dog, Lilly.
He is survived by his wife and longtime companion of more than 35 years, Alene M (DeFoe) MacKenzie; three daughters, Amy (Brandon) Sipola, South Range, Peggy Rivord, Superior and Laurie (Jon) King, Washington; one son, Mike (Barb) DeFoe, Superior; one stepson, Scott (Jan) Larson; seven grandchildren; one sister, Donna Mae (Ron) Finstad, Solon Springs; one brother, Mickey (Julie) MacKenzie, Superior; nephews, Cody and Trevor; niece, Jessica; and his dearest friends, Rick Horvatich, Ron Berg, Skip Kolawski and Linda Constance.
Pallbearers for the service will be Rick Horvatich, Ron Berg, Skip Kolawski, Craig Rudd, Brandon Sipola and Jon King.
